Expert Review Policy
Expert review should mean that a qualified person has responsibility for the substance, not that a credential is placed next to content for decoration.
Verify the person
Before publishing an expert biography, verify the person’s identity, former employer, role, dates, specialty, education and any professional license or certification being represented.
Match expertise to subject
A financial diligence professional may review earnings-quality content; a tax or cybersecurity conclusion should be reviewed by someone whose experience fits that subject.
Name the reviewer when appropriate
Where a named expert materially reviews an article or framework and has approved public attribution, the page can identify the reviewer and link to a verified biography.
Do not imply former-employer affiliation
Former employment may be described truthfully. Employer names may illustrate relevant career environments, but logos, “powered by” language or wording that implies a roster relationship, sponsorship, endorsement or current affiliation should not be used without authorization. Employer reputation alone does not establish qualification.
Correct material errors
If a substantive error is identified, correct it promptly and, where useful to readers, note the correction.
The purpose of expert review is better judgment and accountability, not borrowed prestige.
